Introduction

Here is our contribution to the taping community on the web. Steve and I have been working on this labelling code for over 3 years now (Steve has done most of the work!) and we are finally making it public. Although this code was originally written to work on UNIX with laser printers, the emergence of Portable Document Format (PDF) files has allowed us to make this work for people with all types of computers.

In short, this program will allow you to convert something like this:

Dave Matthews Band - Pittsburgh, PA - 3/5/95
1 tape
The AJ Palumbo Center
TCD-D7: Core Sound Mics
_
Recently/Transition Breakdown/Lie In Our Graves/Dancing Nancies/
Warehouse/Say Goodbye|Tripping Billies/Intro-> Satellite/
Rhyme and Reason/36/Ants Marching/Song That Jane Likes
into a label which looks like this excerpt:

System Requirements

MacOS X/Windows:
Adobe Acrobat Reader (free from Adobe!)
Printer (does not need to be Laser!)

UNIX:
PostScript-ready Laser Printer AND PostScript printing software (Optional)
OR Laser Printer and Adobe Acrobat software (free!)

We recommend that you use recent versions of Web Browsers.

When configured correctly, these programs will allow you to easily view and print your labels. We'll walk you through a standard set of installation instructions. Skip any section which you already have configured.

Check out this Sample Label to see what your output will look like when sent back by the web page.
